Clare Williams

Clare is currently taking time off from her practice to spend time with her family.  She will return in early 2024.

Clare Williams, BA(Psych), Dip Ed, PG Dip Psych, PG Dip Applied Psych, Assoc. MAPS, is a registered psychologist with extensive experience in treating children, adolescents and their families. She completed her studies in psychology at Macquarie University and graduated with distinction.

Clare has over 10 years’ experience in the child and adolescent mental health sector and has worked across both public and private clinical settings. She has formulated, coordinated and implemented a number of training programs within schools and the community aimed at empowering children, families and adults to understand and manage mental health issues.

Clare is trained in evidence-based treatment approaches and implements individualised treatment frameworks for her clients. She is also skilled in Maudsley Family Therapy for eating disorders as well as psychometric assessments for cognitive and learning difficulties. She has conducted postgraduate research into different learning approaches and how these can inform academic performance.

Clare treats a variety of psychological difficulties including Autism Spectrum Disorder and general social skills issues, ADHD, behavioural difficulties, anxiety and emotion regulation problems. She has a collaborative approach to therapy and works closely with schools, families, doctors and other metal health professionals to provide a comprehensive treatment approach for each client. Clare’s area of expertise lies in treating social skills difficulties and emotion regulation problems in children and adolescents. In her clinical practice, Clare focuses on building the resilience of her clients by identifying their strengths and skills so that they are empowered to meet their treatment goals.
